Schulte Marine Concept (SMC) is the project-focused business within Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement, providing a comprehensive range of technical consultancy and project management services for newbuilding, conversion and retrofit projects as well as technical support for the fleet in service.
SMC’s project tailored services range from design consultancy, project feasibility studies, through shipyard audits, shipbuilding contract and technical specification negotiations, plan approval and 3D model review, construction site supervision to ship inspections, dry docking support and ballast water treatment retrofits.
SMC operates through permanent regional offices in Shanghai (head office) and Hong Kong as well as through project dedicated site offices scattered throughout the world’s shipbuilding markets. Through sustained activity and extensive experience, SMC has built an in-house team of highly qualified and experienced technical experts and supervisors attending its projects.
Over 400 cargo vessels ranging from 1,700 – 9,400 TEU container vessels, 30,000 – 400,000 dwt bulk carriers and iron ore carriers, crude oil tankers, product tankers, chemical tankers, LNG / LEG / LPG carriers, LNG bunkering vessel to OSV, PSV, wind farm maintenance vessel, Floating Offshore Transhipping Platform, 1,600 ton Derrick type Pipe Laying Barge, Floating Dry Docks were delivered or are under construction for 70 ship owners in 31 shipyards in China, 11 shipyards in Korea, 7 shipyards in Japan, 10 shipyards in Europe as well as further shipyards in the Philippines, Thailand and the Middle East
